Terms
Terms of use
The terms on which we supply a subscription, what we expect from you, and the limits of what the service can do. Written for consumers in Ireland.
The agreement between us
When you buy a subscription from us, an agreement is formed between you and IPTV Ireland on these terms. We confirm the term you bought, the amount paid and the dates it runs between, in writing, so both sides have the same record.
These terms are written for household customers. If you are buying for a business, a pub or any premises where television is shown publicly, tell us before ordering, because different licensing obligations apply to you and they are not resolved by buying a domestic subscription.
What we supply
- Access to the subscription service for the term you paid for.
- Login details and setup instructions written for the device you told us about.
- Support by WhatsApp and email during our published support hours, for the length of your term.
- Help moving to a different device during your term, at no additional charge.
We do not supply broadband, and we do not sell hardware. Where we recommend a device, that is practical advice and we take no commission on it.
What we ask of you
- Use the subscription in your own household, and do not share or resell your login details.
- Use one stream at a time unless you have paid for an additional connection.
- Use the service in line with Irish law, and do not attempt to redistribute, rebroadcast or record and republish content.
- Give us accurate device details, so that the setup we send you actually matches your equipment.
- Tell us promptly if something is not working, rather than waiting until the end of your term.
Payment and term
Subscriptions are paid for in advance, in euro, for a fixed term of one, three, six or twelve months. The amount published on our plans page is the total for the whole term.
Nothing renews automatically. We do not store a payment method and there is no recurring charge. Your access ends on the end date unless you choose to buy a further term.
Honest limits of the service
We would rather state these plainly here than argue about them later.
- The service depends on your own internet connection, which is outside our control. A connection that cannot sustain the throughput will produce a poor experience regardless of anything we do.
- Content available in a category changes over time. We do not guarantee that any specific channel, competition, film or programme will be available on any given date.
- Picture quality depends on the source as well as on your connection and device. Some sources are standard definition and cannot be improved.
- Third-party player applications are made by other developers. If one is withdrawn or changed, we will help you move to an alternative, but we do not control them.
- Occasional interruptions happen with any streamed service. We aim to resolve them quickly rather than pretend they never occur.
Suspension and ending an agreement
We may suspend or end a subscription without refund where login details have been shared or resold, where the service is used to redistribute content, or where the account is used unlawfully. These are serious steps and we do not take them lightly, but they are necessary.
You may stop using the service at any time. Because subscriptions are paid in advance for a fixed term, stopping use does not by itself create a refund; the refund policy and your statutory cancellation rights set out when money is returned.
Liability
We take responsibility for supplying the service we agreed to supply, and for putting things right when we get them wrong. We are not responsible for failures of your own broadband connection, for hardware you bought elsewhere, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Your statutory rights
These terms sit alongside your rights as a consumer in Ireland and do not replace them. Irish consumer law gives you rights in relation to digital services, including that they should be as described and supplied with reasonable skill and care.
Your cancellation right for a distance contract is explained on our right of withdrawal page, and our own refund position is set out in the refund policy.
Independent information about consumer rights in Ireland is available from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. Contacting them does not stop you raising the matter with us as well, and we would prefer you did both if you are unhappy.
These terms are written to be readable rather than defensive. They should still be reviewed by a solicitor qualified in Ireland before launch, particularly the liability and suspension sections.
