Buyer guide

How to compare IPTV providers in Ireland without getting caught out

A practical checklist you can use on any seller, including us. It is written to be useful even if you decide to buy somewhere else, because a market full of badly informed buyers is bad for everyone in it.

Warning signs

Six things that should make you slow down

None of these proves a provider is bad. All of them are worth a second question before you hand over money.

Named premium channels and logos

A site listing broadcaster brands and league badges is making a claim about rights. Ask them, in writing, what licence supports it.

Precise uptime percentages

A figure like 99.9% sounds authoritative and is almost never measured. Ask how it is calculated and who audits it.

Review walls with no source

Star ratings and testimonials that do not link to an independent platform can be written by anyone in ten minutes.

Countdown timers and fake scarcity

A digital subscription cannot run out of stock. Pressure tactics exist to stop you doing exactly the checking this page describes.

No contact route before payment

If you cannot ask a question until after you have paid, you have learned everything you need to know about the support.

A refund policy that only exists in chat

If it is not on a page you can read before ordering, it is not a policy. It is a sentence somebody typed.

The checklist

Six questions, and what a good answer looks like

Send these to any provider you are considering. Compare the answers, not the marketing.

Questions worth asking any IPTV provider in Ireland before you pay, and how we answer them.
What to check How we handle it What to watch out for
Can you talk to a person before paying? Our practice: Yes. Ask us anything on WhatsApp first, including whether your television is supported. Order pages with no contact route until after payment.
Is the price the full price? Our practice: Yes. The amount shown is the amount charged for the whole term, in euro. Monthly figures that only apply if you buy two years up front.
Does anything renew automatically? Our practice: No. Your term ends on its end date unless you choose to renew it. Stored card details and silent renewals that are hard to stop.
Is there a written refund position? Our practice: Yes, on our refund page, along with your statutory cancellation rights in Ireland. A refund promise made only in a chat message.
Are the claims checkable? Our practice: We describe categories of content and do not publish uptime figures we cannot evidence. Named premium channels, exact uptime percentages and review scores with no source.
Do they explain what can go wrong? Our practice: Yes. Buffering, Wi-Fi limits and device quirks are covered before you buy, not after. Sites where nothing ever fails and no requirements are listed.

Price honesty

How to read an IPTV price properly

  • Find the total charged, not the "from" figure. Divide it yourself by the number of months.
  • Check whether the headline monthly price requires a two-year commitment to achieve.
  • Ask whether a second simultaneous connection costs extra, before you assume it is included.
  • Ask what happens at the end of the term, and whether anything is charged automatically.
  • Confirm the currency. A price in euro on an Irish-facing site should not become a different figure at checkout.

See how we present our own prices

A simple scoring method

Give each provider one point per item. Anything below four out of six deserves a very careful second look.

  • Answered a specific question specifically, before payment
  • Published total price, in euro, with no hidden term requirement
  • Written refund and cancellation position on a public page
  • Clear statement about renewals and stored payment details
  • Realistic claims, with stated limitations and requirements
  • A named route for complaints and rights issues

We deliberately do not name or rank competitors on this page. A comparison that only ever concludes that we are best is an advertisement, not a comparison.

About this guide

Questions people ask about the checklist itself

Why publish a guide that helps people compare you with others?

Because a customer who checked carefully before buying is a customer who does not ask for a refund in week two. Careful buyers are our best customers, so helping people buy carefully is straightforwardly in our interest.

Is a cheaper provider always worse?

No. But price alone is a poor signal in this market, because the real cost of a bad choice is the evening you spend fighting it and the money you cannot get back. Judge the support and the honesty before the price.

What is the single biggest warning sign?

A seller who will not answer a specific question with a specific answer before taking payment. Everything else on this page is a variation of that one test.

Put us to the test

Run the checklist on us and see how the answers come back

Send us the six questions. You will get six specific answers, in writing, before any payment is discussed. That is the whole point of publishing this page.
