DMCA and content rights policy
Our position on copyright, how to send us a rights complaint, and what we do when one arrives. Complaints are read and acted on, not ignored.
Our position
We respect copyright and the rights of the people who create and finance television, film and sport. We expect anyone who deals with us, whether customer or partner, to do the same.
Copyright in Ireland is governed principally by the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 and the legislation that has amended it. Where a rights holder or their representative raises a concern with us, we take it seriously and respond.
This website itself
Every image, illustration and interface shown on iptv-ir.com was produced specifically for this website. The screens shown on televisions and devices in our photography are our own illustrative designs.
You will not find any broadcaster logo, channel identity, competition badge, club crest, film poster or third-party artwork anywhere on this site, and no third-party brand name is used. That is deliberate, and it is a policy rather than an oversight.
Sending us a rights complaint
Send notices to [email protected] with "copyright notice" in the subject line. Notices sent through this route are read by a person, not filtered into a general support queue.
To let us act quickly, please include:
- Your name, organisation and contact details, and your authority to act for the rights holder.
- A clear identification of the work or works you say are affected.
- Precisely what you say is happening, and where, in enough detail for us to locate it.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use complained of is not authorised.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
- Your signature, electronic or physical.
This format follows the widely used notice-and-takedown structure familiar from the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We use it because it is well understood internationally, while our own obligations are those that apply under Irish and European law.
How we handle a notice
- We acknowledge receipt so you know a person has it.
- We review it promptly and establish what, if anything, is within our control.
- Where something is within our control, we act on it, including removing material from this website.
- Where it is not, we say so plainly and, where we can, point you towards the party who can act.
- We keep a record of notices and of what was done about each one.
We will not ignore a notice, and we will not require a court order before engaging with a reasonable complaint made in good faith.
Counter-notices and disputes
If material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, write to the same address explaining why, with your contact details. We will consider it properly rather than treating the first decision as final.
Notices sent in bad faith, or to suppress legitimate content, waste everyone's time and may have legal consequences for the sender.
Repeat infringement
Accounts used to redistribute, rebroadcast or republish content are suspended or terminated. This is set out in our terms of use and it is enforced. A subscription is supplied for private viewing in one household, and nothing else.
For our customers
You are responsible for using the service lawfully and in line with our terms. In practice that means watching at home, not sharing your login, and not recording and republishing anything.
The full conditions are in our terms of use. If anything there is unclear, ask us rather than guessing.
This page sets out a process. The underlying legal obligations should be confirmed with a solicitor qualified in Ireland, and a named contact for rights notices should be in place before launch.
